Shin-Gunto Katana Hirada Hidemitsu

Forging Pattern: muji
Tempering Pattern: an odd misty hamon of tiny ko-nie that starts out suguha and ends in what appears to be full temper near the kissaki. Ko-Nie was visible under 5X magnification, Almost impossible to photograph.

Mountings:  Brass habaki. '34 pattern Shin-gunto mounts. Apper to be a "put together" set, could be late war though, judging by lack of samé under wrap and unusual suede combat cover over simple plain wood saya, all in reaonable condition.
Overall Condition:  Very Good. One tiny nick in the edge, arsenal stamp may have been filed off. Hirada Hidemitsu is a listed Seki smith.
