Gendaito By Emura, The Prison Warden Swordsmith

Signature: Emura saku
Year Made:  WW II era
Forging Pattern: Tight mu-ji .
Tempering Pattern: pointed gunome.
Dimensions:  Blade Length:  26.125 inchesNakago:7.75 inches 8 mm thick and 33 mm wide at Hamachi
Mountings:  Good quality '34 pattern shin-gunto mounts with company grade tassel an excellent condition. Quality fittings including sarute and gold washed copper habaki. Green painted saya in excellent shape, no dents or paint loss. Tsuka wrapped in heavy canvas of rough cotton material. Everything fits together well and is an attractive package.
Overall Condition:  Very Good, a hand made gendaito with a nioi hamon and spots of ji-nie here and there. It is hard to tell about the hada due to fine scratches which would make it appear mu-ji but there may be a tight hada if polished. There are a few spots of nioi kuzure and also some places of nioi giri where the hamon is gone but the temper below is visible. It is in good polish except for some scratching and some tiny nicks. All in all a nice example of the work of a well known Showa era smith.
