Mountings:  WW II Gunto with two piece habaki.
Overall Condition: The blade has no condition problems except for surface stains, scratches and scuff marks.  The handle wrap is damaged but could easily be restored..  There are some remnants of an old label just below the koiguchi.  The fittings are in excellent condition.  The habaki is gold plated and a bit dented but serviceable in this mounting.  Not the custom menukis with a family crest. Most likely the officer's ancestral sword remounted for use during WW2.
