Hira Zukuri Tanto in Aikuchi mounts

Mountings:  Aikuchi style mounting with leather wrap on tsuka and nice menuki, horn fittings, fancy lacquer on saya in metallic flake. Mounts in fairly good condition, a little loss to the lacquer and someone had glued something to it at one point, gold wash habaki
Overall Condition:  Poor.  Sword had been buffed until all traces of hamon and hada could not bee seen and then the remaining pits were sanded with coarse sandpaper. Would probably take a polish. I would call it Shinto or Shin-shinto from the rust on the nakago
