Mountings:  The sword is in Edo period koshirae with copper fittings and one piece gold washed habaki.
Overall Condition:  The blade is old but in good polish with some minor scratches, abrasions and rust spots.  The koshirae show ware typical to daily use from the Edo time period but is repairable.  The saya has dents and some lacquer losses but it is still solid, no cracks.  It appears there was suno on the saya that is gone.  The tsuka is solid with nice same but there is some missing around the mekugi area.  The kodogu and tsuba are all copper with gold, silver, and shakudo inlays.  They are all in very good condition.  The seppa and habaki are gold washed that is worn and rubbed off in some places but they are still solid.   Vern nice overall wakizashi with good work.
