27+ inch Katana with Fresh Polish and Extremely Active Workmanship
Year Made: Shinto 1700s
Forging Pattern: O-Mokume/itame mix, very active.
Tempering Pattern: Wild midare in nioi with tobiyaki, much more exuberant on one side than the other.

Mountings: Recent Shirasaya, does not appear to be of Japanese manufacture, some dings in the wood. Beautiful, "rain pattern," solid silver habaki.
Overall Condition: Excellent, fresh polish with very prominent hada and hamon. Has some ware in the shinogi-ji, ji and boshi and some minor pits but they do not detract from the beauty of the sword. Unusual polisher's signature. A beautiful blade with a graceful shape and good balance.
