Kanenobu Gendai-to Katana with Owner's Name Inscribed

Signature:  No Shu Ju Kanenobu Saku Kore.
Year Made:  WW II era
Forging Pattern: Hard to make out, very tight grain. 
Tempering Pattern: Very active midare in nie-deki.
Dimensions:  Blade Length:  Just under 27 inchesNakago: 8 inches 7 mm thick and 32 mm wide at Hamachi
Mountings:  '34 pattern Shin-gunto mounts with tsuba missing. Some dents in saya. Unusual menuki, brass habaki and 4 unnumbered seppa. Mounts in decent shape but show wear.
Overall Condition:  Very good, some light scratching and tiny chips and pitting but overall very good condition for WW II polish and the very active hamon can be enjoyed as is. A polish would really make this sword stand out. The inscription on the omote of the nakago reads "property of artillery 2nd Lieutenant Takai Haru (Translation courtesy of Harry Watson of afuresearch.com).
