Mountings: '34 pattern shin-gunto mounts of high quality with all matching parts and a silver family mon on the kabutogane, lacquer on saya and same/ito are in poor condition but the fittings themselves are in good shape. Koshirae is held together by a tsunagi or wooden copy of the sword. Also included is a shirasaya with a sayagaki by Tanobe-san of the NBTHK. We have not translated the sayagaki and if we do will post the translation at a later date.
Overall Condition: The sword is in fresh polish and shows the beautiful formations of nie and ko-nie. It is very well worked and is flawless except for a small ware near the front on the ura side. An excellent addition for the collector of Showa swords and having the original mounts as well is a plus.
