Year Made: Shinshinto
Forging Pattern: Itame
Tempering Pattern: Gunome Midare
Dimensions: Nagasa: 28 5 /16", Nakago: 9 1/8", Mihaba: 1 5/16", Sakihaba: 15/16", Kasane: 5/16", Sori: 3/4"
Mountings: The saya appears to be new, in excellent condition with a rough kanshitsu lacquer finish. The tsuba is nice old iron. The tsuka is very solid condition, the ito is tight with no issues. The fuchi and menuki are brass and the kashira is horn. The habaki is solid, tight one piece copper. Everything fits together tightly. The blade does fit in the saya too tightly but this may be a humidity issue in the Northwest. The saya can always be opened up if necessary.
Overall Condition: The blade is in very good polish, easy to see all the forging work and temper. The only issue with the blade is an old chip in the ha just in front of the habaki
